Fan coil fans: purpose, types, selection

Fancoil is an integral part of many climate systems, the closer of treated air to the intended room. The very translation of this word from English (fan coil) indicates its two main parts - a fan and a heat exchanger. Thus, it may be necessary to buy a fan for a fan coil unit both when operating a wide variety of HVAC complexes, and when creating new ones.

Characteristics

Due to the generally difficult-to-reach placement in crowded rooms and long-term operation, fans of this purpose are required to

  • sufficient power for effective convection throughout the room;
  • high efficiency, economy;
  • low noise level;
  • reliability, maximum service life without repairs and, if possible, even without maintenance.

Varieties of design

The specific location of fan coil units imposes special requirements on the design and layout of their units. Often (both when placing industrial devices behind a false ceiling, and for the sake of aesthetics of the unhidden indoor units of household and office split systems), they must be as compact as possible in at least one direction - flat. This can be achieved by blowing the heat exchanger

  1. several small fans distributed over its area;
  2.  flat centrifugal impeller with flow redirection;
  3.  wide axial propeller;
  4.  impeller "squirrel wheel", elongated, but of small diameter.

It is the last solution that has become widespread - due to its compactness along two axes (not a plane, but a narrow cylinder) with a blow not end-face, but radial, sideways along the entire length, covering a fairly large area of the heat exchanger. If in the first three options, in addition to the impeller, a flat motor is also required (which is irrational for its design) or its integration into the impeller (which reduces its effective area), or its placement is not on the same axis as the impeller (which requires additional transmission and creates a radial force in the bearings), then small-diameter "squirrel wheels" are usually located on the double-sided shaft of the same narrow electric motor, practically eliminating radial loads and fitting into the minimum dimensions.

 The range of Fancoil Motors includes fans for fan coil units of various manufacturers, designs and capacities - both in the form of complete systems, and in parts - electric motors, impellers, fasteners, protection and control units.
