Fancoil repair

Despite the high reliability of climate systems, nothing lasts forever. Sooner or later anticipated events requiring (often urgent) application. Excluding the complete rejection of the door closer and preliminary signs:

• rare dysfunction;
  
• loss of accuracy in maintaining air parameters;
  
• unnatural noises and smells;
  
• drops, wet spots, mold;
  
• decrease in work efficiency (unfortunately, it can be detected only with constant monitoring of modes and power consumption).

Basically, fan coil units experience the same problems as in any equipment:

• Breakage (for example, due to vibration) of power or communication cables (in systems with wired control). Sometimes it will be necessary to replace the entire wiring section, but the reliability after repair may be higher than the original one.
  
• Failure of the electric motor (breakage or short circuit of the windings, wear or jamming of the bearings). It is more rational to replace it with a new one, the main thing is that it is exactly suitable for both electrical and mechanical characteristics.
  
• Violation of the functions of control or protective automation. For convenience and speed, as a rule, the entire electronic unit is changed, and notисправный может быть восстановлен позже в лабораторных условиях. 

• Clogging of the air fins of the heat exchanger with dust. A very common situation, leading at first not to a complete malfunction, but only to a decrease in the efficiency of the fan coil unit, an increase in energy consumption. It is eliminated by ordinary cleaning, which, strictly speaking, should be carried out during routine maintenance. Similarly, in the order of current operation, filters are replaced.
  
• Destruction or deformation (due to aging, manufacturing defects or ingress of a solid object) of the fan impeller. Usually it is enough to replace the impeller itself, without even dismantling the engine, provided that the selection is exactly identical. If only the dimensions and landing coincide, but the width (shape, angle of attack) of the blades in fans with a double shaft is different, it is necessary to replace both impellers and balance the entire moving part.
  
• Failure of valves and electromechanical components. Sometimes it is possible to change not the whole product, but only the drive or only the actuator.
  
• Blockage or leakage in the hydraulics (both high pressure and in the drainage system). It is often more expedient to replace the entire assembly or section of the pipeline than to disassemble, clean and restore the tightness of old elements.
  

Fancoil repair is closely related to its maintenance. On the one hand, during any repair, all preventive (routine) work is carried out along the way and, of course, are included in its cost, if there is no long-term contract for them, which we always recommend concluding.

On the other hand, high-quality and regular care significantly prolongs (often several times) the overhaul period. Not only the funds for the repair of the fan coil are saved, but the inevitable losses due to downtime are also reduced. After all, in some rooms, according to the norms of sanitary, technical or labor legislation, in principle, work (stay of people and / or functioning of certain systems) is not allowed without ventilation, cooling, dehumidification, heating and other air treatment.

In addition, many faults can lead to accidents that go beyond the devices in which they occur. Elimination of consequences is always more expensive than early prevention.
