Due to the fact that fan coil units are often located at a height much higher than the height of the average person, remote controls for them are an absolutely necessary attribute and therefore are included in the basic package of most models from any manufacturer. Despite all the achievements of non-contact means of communication, the most reliable, cheap (with the same functions) and noise-independent are wired consoles, the signals of which are transmitted through the good old copper conductors - insulated, shielded and protected from mechanical and climatic influences. They do not create any radiation and are not critical to strangers; fixed permanently on the wall, due to which they are not lost and much less damaged and contaminated; Finally, they do not need batteries. The latter is a very significant advantage over wireless, since

1) do not have to buy these items;

2) they will not need to be replaced at the most inopportune moment;

3) eliminates the mass of failures and malfunctions associated with poor contacts in the battery compartment.

It should not be assumed that a wired remote control is necessarily the simplest mechanical thermostat that sets only the temperature and fan speed. There are models with a graphic display, programming modes that control two-pipe fan coil units, position of blinds, etc., as well as with support for the RS-485 protocol, which allows them to be networked to control a fan coil unit from several points or vice versa - several fan coil units from one remote control .
