Float pumps

This is simply a classification of drainage systems by sensor type. In general, the liquid level can be controlled in various ways - optically, acoustically, by changing the dielectric or magnetic permeability of the interelectrode medium, and so on. But the most reliable sensor of this kind (at least for clean water and on stationary objects) remains mechanical - the good old float, invented long before electricity and has undergone very few changes since the time of Archimedes. The position of the float itself can directly (mechanically) control the valves of hydraulic and pneumatic systems or (in particular, to turn on the pump) can be monitored electrically, for example, by a pair of magnet-reed switch or a conventional leaky contact, the same capacitive, inductive and optical sensors. Float mechanisms are used mainly in bulk pumps and, as a rule, also have a second level of operation for emergency shutdown of all sources of condensate in the event of a pump malfunction, clogging or freezing of the outlet channel. That is, the term "float pump" itself is usually a direct synonym for a bulk (accumulative) pump. Some models of flow pumps are also equipped with the same sensors (for this they are equipped with a float chamber, which is also essentially a small storage tank).
