Century Electric Motor — global manufacturer of electric motors for water pumps and asynchronous motors. Formerly known as A.O. Smith Electrical Products EPC, an A.O. Smith, a company with over 140 years of history that began in 1874 when Charles Jeremiah Smith opened a small shop manufacturing metal parts for prams and other hardware.

As the inventor of the patented glass coating process, AO Smith launched its first water heater in 1939 and has been delivering innovative solutions to the water heating home appliance industry for over 70 years.

1998 York International makes A.O. Smith Electrical Products (Century Electric) as a supplier of electric motors for its equipment, including fan coil units.

 AO Smith sold its electric motor business to Regal Beloit Corporation in 2011. Since then, AO Smith Distribution Motors has been named Century Electric Motor.
